7 Methods to Manage Information Overload

When I first started in internet marketing, everything is refreshing to me and the days are manageable. But soon, my mailbox starts to get flooded and my disk space becomes overloaded with downloads. And I find myself wasting my time flitting from one task to another. This is when I called it to a stop and brainstorm for ways to manage this information overload crisis. Here are 6 effective ways to overcome information overload.

  • Plan your day.

Before you start your lap-top, write down 3 things you want to complete by today. Choose the most important one and post it on a writing board near your lap-top. This serve as a constant reminder of your top task-of-the-day. Schedule every Sunday to plan your week ahead by setting weekly goals.

  • Organise your accounts.

How many hours have you spent looking for that lost password and user name? Keep a booklet that records all your registered passwords and usernames and important information for your accounts such as click bank, web host, gmail, paypal etc. Make sure that the booklet is easily accessible.

  • Keep track of your affiliate links.

If you are into affiliate marketing, every product that you promote has an unique affiliate link to it. The worse thing that can happen is to enter the wrong affiliate link and wonder why you never get paid! You can save them all into a word file so that you do not have to log on to retrieve the exact link., whenever you need them.

  • Download post-it note freeware.

These handy, colourful post-it notes will appear on your desk-top. I use them to record affiliate links, java scripts that I need to copy and paste frequently. They are also very handy for jotting down ideas when you are surfing or reading an e-book. The person should click here at online search engines for gathering information about the cpa marketing. The techniques will be the best for increasing the sale of the product. A comparison can be done regarding the marketing techniques for the solution. The reading of the web pages will be efficient for the person.

  • Set a schedule.

Most of us work better with a schedule. You may want to set a schedule when you are working from home to instil some discipline. For example, a typical schedule could be to start work by 9 am, take lunch at 1 pm, break at 5 pm to hit the gym. You can also schedule your e-book reading and surfing to the evening, after you have completed your task-of-the-day.

  • Minimise distractions.

Be focused on the task at hand. When you need to work on something important, you should shut down your Outlook, off your phone and TV, and log off from instant messaging until you get it done. Write down where you stop before you go off to attend to other things so that you can continue from there once you come back.

  • Keep a log of your daily activities so that you do not repeat tasks that you have performed.

In the internet marketing business, there is plenty of reading up to do. Hence, it is a good practise to summarise what you have read and the key learning points so that you can refer to them later.

So by getting more organised and coupled with some self-discipline, I’m sure you can keep this grisly monster at bay and get more things done in a jiffy!
